Louisville, KY. The top college wheelchair tennis players in the country will be competing for a national title this weekend in Louisville. The Collegiate Wheelchair National Championships, a United States Tennis Association – Kentucky (USTA Kentucky) and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) event, is being hosted at the Bellarmine University Recreation Center Indoor Tennis Courts and begins on Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m.
The Collegiate Wheelchair National Championships feature seven outstanding athletes representing three universities: Middle Tennessee State University, Louisiana State University and the University of Arizona. Athletes will compete in singles and doubles categories.
The weekend will kick off with an awards banquet for the players on Friday, March 16 at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Café.
USTA Kentucky Executive Director, Sharon Rahman said, “We are pleased to be hosting a tournament of this caliber in Kentucky. These are amazing athletes, the best in the country, and it should provide for an exciting tennis event for the entire community.”

USTA Kentucky was established in 1910 and has a current membership of over 8,500. A not-for-profit organization, policy is formed and much of the organization’s work is executed via a board and committee structure of volunteers. A skilled staff, housed in Louisville, compliments the volunteer structure and is charged with carrying out the daily operations and goals of the organization. USTA Kentucky’s Mission Statement is to promote and develop the growth of tennis.
