LAROSA LOOP EVENT

WHEN:  Saturday, August 4, 2007 8:00AM-4:00PM (LUNCH PROVIDED)

WHERE:  Louisville, Waterfront area near the Rowing Center (Yellow Parking Lot off River Road)

WHAT:  LAROSA LOOP EVENT-10 or 25 mile bike or handcycle ride and 1, 3 or 5 mile walk/wheel along the
waterfront.  This is an annual event and I would love to see a bunch of handcycles and chairs pushing along the
waterfront in this event.  

HELP NEEDED:  Participation in the event.  We can find sponsorship for your entry fee.  Minimal work involved!!


A bicycle ride and walk in honor of Ethel Larosa, M.D.

Please join Jewish Hospital's Frazier Rehab Institute for the Larosa Loop:  A bicycle ride and walk in honor of Ethel Larosa, M.D.  You have your choice of either a 10 or 25 mile bike ride, or a walk of 1, 3 or 5 miles. 

The event takes place on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Waterfront Park.  Registration begins at  the Waterfront Park Louisville Rowing Club, which is located off the Yellow Parking Lot east of Tumbleweed Restaurant on River Road.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 25 mile bike ride and 9 a.m. for the 10 mile bike ride and/or any of the walks.

The fee is $25 per family.  Other donations will be accepted. All proceeds will be earmarked for the Ethel Larosa Fund, Which supports projects, such as the Frazier Rehab Institute Larosa Lounge, Pediatric Rehab Lectureship Series and a summer Pediatric Day camp Program, to name a few.  All donations are tax deductible.

Registration includes a t-shirt and familiy activitites.  Activities will begin after the bicycle ride/walk at approxmiately 11 a.m.  Activities include adapted rowing demo, hand cycling demostrations, fun, games and food.

The Larosa Loop bicyle ride crosses the Clark Memorial Bridge and proceeds east along the waterfront in Jeffersonville, IN, continuing upriver to Utica, IN.  It then returns to Waterfront Park.  The ride is scenic and flat for beginning to advanced riders. 

The Larosa Loop walk will remain in the Waterfront Park area.
